Equally comedic and insightful, Letting Go of God is Sweeney’s brilliant one-woman show about her struggle with her faith. Grappling with the seeming contradictions in Adam and Eve, Noah, the Ten Commandments, and even the teachings of Jesus - and trying to understand the Bible’s messages about morality, family values, and human suffering while faced with door-knocking Mormons and wise-cracking priests - Sweeney takes listeners on her very personal journey from God to “not-God”.

This performance was recorded on November 19, 2005, at the Ars Nova Theatre in New York City.

Julia Sweeney was a cast member on Saturday Night Live from 1989-94, and is best known for the mysteriously androgynous character, “It’s Pat!”. She has also served as a consulting producer on Sex and the City and Desperate Housewives. Letting Go of God is her third monologue. She performed her first, God Said, “Ha!”, in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and on Broadway, as well as in a film produced by Quentin Tarantino. The CD version was nominated for a Grammy.

Synopsis: When a litter of dalmatian puppies are abducted by the minions of Cruella De Vil, the parents must find them before she uses them for a diabolical fashion statement. Pongo and Perdita have a litter of 15 puppies. Cruella De Vil takes a fancy to the pups, and wants to get hold of them, as well as more pups, to make herself a lovely dalmatian skin coat… Cruella hires some thugs to kidnap the pups and hold them at her mansion. Michael Keaton and Andie MacDowell star in this comedy
about a man who clones himself to save his marriage,
and then almost loses his wife– to himself! Overworked
and overscheduled, contractor Doug Kinney never has
enough time for his wife and family. So when a helpful
geneticist offers to “xerox” Doug, it seems like the
perfect solution — until the clones begin to take over
his home, his job, and his bed. Keaton takes on four
distinct roles.

DDX rlsd this great comedy December 23rd, 2000,
which is ages ago. It suffered from NO IVTC and
was heavily undersized (941mb/2cds), according
to ddx’s nfo. If this is correct, then a FPS at
29,9 would have been a proper reason. However,
propers of such old releases are apparently not
appriciated by certain people, so we used the
internal tag to make sure that as few people as
possible will ever get their hands on this
movie.

Plot Summary:
The film, ‘Blank’, is the story of a young boy who witnesses the violent death of his parents. The story fast forwards 20 years and our young man finds himself involved with organized crime, his stepfather is the crime boss. While watching a poker game he overhears who murdered his parents and vows revenge. We follow our central character for the next 20 hours as he plans and executes his revenge. He picks his father up from prison, solicits assistance in his plan and becomes unwittingly involved with a pair of serial killers. There are side plots involving the crime boss’s wife and an affair and a bizarre and shocking twist at the end. The film would be best described as a psycho/thriller.
